Arte Américas was founded in Fresno in 1987 by educators and artists who advocated for Latino/a representation in art and cultural institutions throughout California’s Central Valley. A comprehensive collaboration with Arte’s resulted in a new brand language, which aimed to retain the organization’s roots but enhance and broaden the impact of its visual communications in a vibrant, flexible way.

Brand Patterns
A series of patterns were developed intended for various uses, all built around the re-drawn identity. The original mark had been drawn with the idea of “weaving” at its core, and this notion drove a huge part of the visual exploration.

Nights at the Plaza
An identity for Arte’s concrete series—Nights in the Plaza—was designed. It was intended to strongly leverage the new typographic and color palette and set a precedent for future usage.
